La Cala Golf Resort – Marbella, Malaga
La Cala Golf Resort is a the large and exclusive resort located close to Marbella in southern Spain. La Cala is an easy and convenient 30 minute drive from Marbella and our apartment and villas. La Cala has three 18 hole golf courses, and the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Spain. The three courses are maintained to a high standard, and all the the courses are playable all year round.
Overview of the Courses
The North Course – Campo America is considered the more difficult of the three courses. Campo Asia – South Course is a less challenging course and is ideal for the intermediate golfer. Campo Europa, the third course, uses the River Ojen. Making it a unique and distinctive course with plenty of water hazards.
La Cala America:
18 holes, 73 par, 6763 yards. Upland/Hill
La Cala Campo America is one of the most popular golf courses in Andalucia. The exciting topography of the course will have you playing from elevated tees, across huge carries and playing over the undulating fairways. The par-72 track is the most popular in Andalucia, and compared to its sister courses, the Asia and Europa, the America is the largest and considered to be the most challenging of the three golf courses.
La Cala Asia
18 holes, 72 par, 6522 yards. Parkland
La Cala Campo Asia is a distinctive golf course that focuses predominantly on the approach shots. Although there are only water hazards on two holes, half of the tight greens are protected by defensive bunkers. Which require tough approach shots to overcome their elevated positions. These obstacles plus the wide variety of holes through the round makes the Asia Course at La Cala Golf Resort a highly enjoyable test of your golf skills.
La Cala Europa
18 holes, 71 par, 6615 yards. Parkland
La Cala Campo Europa is considered the most forgiving to golf novices, of the three courses at La Cala Golf Club. It is situated in the lower hills, and has wide, spacious fairways and fantastic greens, it is also easier to walk around than the other two courses at the resort. The Ojen River is featured on 8 of the holes, with players having to cross five bridges to complete their round. Which makes for an unique and interesting round of golf that will challenge all levels of players. La Cala Campo Europa is surrounded by the local flora which includes lavender, eucalyptus and olive trees, providing a beautiful and relaxing setting for a game of golf.
After a successful round of golf , you can enjoy a meal at the resort’s Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar Laurel, relax on either of the two patios and enjoy the scenery.
